Introduction to Chinese
AIM
To provide a sound introduction to Chinese language, culture and mentality, including business mentality. The focus areas of the course are pronunciation, vocabulary, polite phrases and everyday phrases so that you can start communicating. Furthermore, it is important to give the course participants knowledge of rules of good form in business and social gatherings, and the national characteristics and customs of the population – dos and don’ts.
TARGET GROUP
People who want to be able to express themselves in a basic Chinese so that they can do well in Chinese everyday life and in the contact with Chinese customers, cooperation partners, or colleagues.
CONTENT
Pronunciation. Review of everyday situations with a view to increasing the knowledge of general Chinese language use and general Chinese culture. Role-plays which are relevant to the specific situation of the course participants.
Conversation training in Chinese
AIM
To strengthen and develop the course participant’s Chinese language skills through intensive practice. To expand the active vocabulary and possibly to improve background knowledge among other things about cultural aspects. Industry-related language use can be included when the language foundation has been created.
TARGET GROUP
People with more or less knowledge of Chinese who will be working in or have contact with China and want to be able to get on in Chinese.
CONTENT
Intensive practice in spoken Chinese, including expansion of existing vocabulary, practising useful expressions and phrases, construction of sentences, and understanding and pronunciation. The course participants will learn to understand and pronounce Chinese words and sentences, to have a conversation in Chinese, and learn the basic rules of Chinese grammar. The course participants will also get insight into usage and social conventions, both in everyday life and in business, just as current affairs will be used for discussion and conversation about China. This course will help provide knowledge of cultural affairs, social conventions and politeness. If the course participants also want to focus on written Chinese, this can also be arranged.
Chinese business language
AIM
To give the course participant more confidence in general Chinese business terms and knowledge of social conventions, politeness, mentality and cultural aspects.
TARGET GROUP
People who need some confidence in Chinese in their day-to-day work.
CONTENT
Speaking exercises, negotiations, etc. Instruction in social conventions, mentality and cultural understanding. Specific language based on the course participant’s line of business may be included in the course according to agreement.
“Brush-up” course in Chinese
AIM
To brush up the participant’s previous knowledge and provide the necessary language confidence in demanding situations.
TARGET GROUP
People with some knowledge of Chinese who want to maintain and strengthen their existing knowledge of Chinese.
CONTENT
Conversation, activation of passive vocabulary. Specific language based on line of business can – to some extent and according to special agreement – be included in the course.
Written Chinese
AIM
To improve the participant’s language level in Chinese with focus on business correspondence.
TARGET GROUP
People who carry out or will be carrying out tasks in written Chinese and who want more confidence and improved skills in written Chinese. The course is provided at all levels.
CONTENT
Review and layout of various Chinese words and expressions and an introduction to and practice in written Chinese.
