German is an important language in Danish trade and industry. Germany is a close neighbour and an important cooperation partner – and therefore it is important to be competent in German. We provide a large number of courses in oral and written German which will prepare you to get on in private situations as well as in business. If you want help to improve and optimise your skills in German through courses tailored to your specific level and requirements, you have come to the right place.

If your communication in German is primarily conversations, it may be a good idea to focus on oral communication. We provide several courses in German communication, by telephone or face-to-face. German conversation

AIM

To strengthen and develop the course participant’s German language skills through intensive practice. To expand the active vocabulary and possibly to improve background knowledge, among other things about cultural aspects. Industry-related language use can be included when the language foundation has been created.

TARGET GROUP

People with more or less knowledge of German who will be working abroad or have international contact and want to be able to have more confidence and impact in German.

CONTENT

Intensive practice in spoken German, including expansion of existing vocabulary, practising useful expressions and phrases, construction of sentences, and understanding and pronunciation. During this course, the course participants will learn to understand and pronounce German words and sentences, to have a conversation in German, and learn the basic rules of German grammar. The course participants will also get insight into usage and social conventions, both in everyday life and in business, just as current affairs will be used for discussion and conversation about Germany. This course will help provide knowledge of cultural affairs, social conventions and politeness. If the course participants also want to focus on written German, this can also be arranged.

German Business Language

AIM

To make the course participant more confident regarding general German business terms in connection with telephone conversations, meetings and in negotiations and sales situations. To provide knowledge of social conventions, polite expressions, mentality, and possibly cultural aspects.

TARGET GROUP

People who need a high level of language confidence in their day-to-day work. People who do not want to miss important subtleties – or to experience situations where their vocabulary is insufficient to present their points of view clearly.

CONTENT

Speaking exercises, telephone dialogues, negotiations, etc. Instruction in social conventions, mentality and cultural understanding. Specific language based on the course participant’s line of business may be included in the course according to agreement.

German Technical Language

AIM

The aim is to obtain confidence in general technical terms in German. To acquire the necessary vocabulary which will enable the course participant to communicate with others, for example about technical tasks.

TARGET GROUP

People with knowledge of German who want to acquire more specialised knowledge.

CONTENT

The course is based on basic vocabulary including the most frequently used language elements combined with technical terms and tasks. Professional language based on the course participant’s line of business may be included in the business English course according to agreement.

Telephone German

AIM

To enable the participant to have a confident and professional telephone conversation German.

TARGET GROUP

People who will regularly have telephone contact with German-speaking customers and business connections, for example people employed in reception/switchboard.

CONTENT

Practise telephone dialogues, including telephone standards. The course is based on a basic vocabulary and includes the most essential language skills.

German secretarial course

AIM

To obtain more confidence regarding professional oral and written communication with German-speaking contacts, customers or visitors.

TARGET GROUP

Secretaries or other employees in charge of secretarial tasks who already have good knowledge of German.

CONTENT

Conversation, entertaining, telephone dialogues, booking, correspondence, etc. Possibly role-plays which are relevant for the participant.

Written German

AIM

To improve the participant’s language level in German with focus on business correspondence.

TARGET GROUP

People who carry out tasks in written German and who want more confidence and improved skills in written communication. The course is provided at all levels.

CONTENT

Review and listing of various German words and phrases and general spelling in German, including review of and layout for various types of correspondence, enquiries, offers and orders, and how to respond in writing.

German course with a duration of 1-2-3 days

AIM

To practice meeting and presentation methods and German negotiation language for a specific, short-term purpose.

TARGET GROUP

People who will before long participate in an important meeting or hold a major presentation German.

CONTENT

The course will exclusively concentrate on strengthening the German language skills of the participant in connection with a future meeting or presentation.

Super-intensive German Course

AIM

To save time and enable the course participant to manage German at a higher level. Typical course duration five days.

TARGET GROUP

People who want to improve their German language skills within a short period of time.

CONTENT

The course will be based on everyday situations and custom. Role-plays, current topics for discussion and conversation. Lunch and coffee breaks are also held in German. Language used in specific lines of business can be included, just as other specific needs and wishes will be considered.

Presentation methods in German

AIM

To strengthen the participant’s communication skills and impact in connection with presentations. To make the participant more confident about making both internal and external presentations in German.

TARGET GROUP

People who want to become more confident in connection with for example meetings or conferences when they are to present and communicate issues, results or ideas in German.

Intensive, basic German course

AIM

To enable the participant to understand and have simple conversations in German and to create background knowledge of among other things culture and social conventions. The course may be combined with business-orientated, practical language instruction at the request of the customer.

TARGET GROUP

People who want to acquire basic German skills quickly and efficiently. For example as a basis for learning the language of a specific line of business.

CONTENT

The course is based on giving the participant a basic German vocabulary and covers the necessary language elements. The course emphasises giving the participant a chance to practise words and phrases in German from the very beginning.

“Brush-up” course in German

AIM

To brush up the participant’s previous knowledge and provide the necessary language confidence in demanding situations.

TARGET GROUP

People with some knowledge of German who want to maintain and strengthen their German skills, for example with a view to conferences, negotiations, exhibitions, etc.

CONTENT

Conversation and activation of passive vocabulary. Specific language based on line of business can – to some extent and according to special agreement – be included in the course.

“Dinner conversation”

AIM

To enable the participant to participate in small talk and have brief conversations in German in addition to the professional communication.

TARGET GROUP

People with some confidence in their professional terminology who want to be able to communicate with their business connections in German in a social context.

CONTENT

Conversation on the basis of the participant’s interests, current topics, social conventions, etc.
